I made this page because I thought that the current system of rankings countries based on their medals was unfair. In the US, they simply total the number of medals, regardless of whether it is gold, silver, or bronze. Most other countries only look at gold medals, and if there is a tie, they would move to silvers and then bronzes. I thought that a more accurate way of measuring a country's success would be to assign 25 points to gold medals, 5 to silver, and 1 to bronze. And now, a country with 6 silvers would beat a country with a single gold, which to me makes more sense.
This page provides a simple and clear way for UW students to see which restaurants are open right now on campus. I learned how to use the Waterloo API, and hope to use it more in the future.
